Yes. Evens is free while we're getting started.

Probably not. Matchmaking takes real human time, and we'd rather charge for that directly than run ads. So we expect to introduce a paid membership as Evens grows.

That said, our first 1,000 signups in the Bay Area are guaranteed one month free. And if anything about pricing changes, we'll tell you well before it does.

Yes — when a friend you refer gets in, you both get two free months of membership. You'll find your referral code at the end of your application.

1. Your friend completes an application using your referral code.
2. If and when their application is approved, we apply the credit to both accounts.
3. Evens is free while we get started, so any free months you earn through referrals will apply if and when we roll out paid plans.
4. You can refer up to 10 friends.
5. We reserve the right to withhold a reward where we suspect fraud or abuse.
6. Referral months stack with the free month guaranteed to our first 1,000 signups.

While your application is in review, only the Evens team. Other applicants can't see it, and it isn't browsable or searchable by anyone.

Once you're approved and you choose to publish it, your profile is shown only to the people we're considering introducing you to. There is no public directory and no way to look someone up on Evens.

What you tell us in the application — your photos, your background, and what you're looking for in someone else — plus your phone number and email so we can reach you. We use it to review your application and to make introductions. Nothing else.

The Privacy Policy has the full detail, including what we collect automatically.

No. We don't sell personal information, and we don't share your profile, your photos, or your contact details with anyone for marketing. Your phone number and email are only used to verify your account and to reach you about your application.

In private storage, not on a public URL. When your photos are displayed, they load over short-lived links that expire, so an image address can't be passed around or indexed by a search engine. Your photos always travel over an encrypted connection.

Either, at any time. Email support@joinevens.com to withdraw an application, or use account deletion to remove everything — profile, photos, preferences, and account.

Adults 18 and over, in the San Francisco Bay Area. Evens is application-only. If you're outside the Bay Area, you can request to be notified when we open up your city.

Everyone accepted is verified before we make any introductions: their age, that they're in the area, and that they're the person in their photos.

Evens is built by Samvit Jain, a machine learning engineer in the Bay Area. It's independent and self-funded, and small enough that we still read every application ourselves.
